Opening Doha 1 & 2 Having cleansed the mirror of my mind with the dust of my Guru's lotus feet, I narrate the pure glory of Lord Ram, which bestows the four ultimate fruits of life. Knowing myself to be ignorant and lacking wisdom, I meditate upon you, Hanuman, the Son of the Wind. Grant me strength, wisdom, and knowledge, and remove all my miseries and flaws. he Chalisa (Line-by-Line Meaning) Victory to Lord Hanuman, who is an ocean of wisdom and virtue. Victory to the Lord of the Vanaras, who illuminates the three worlds. You are the trusted messenger of Lord Ram, the ultimate abode of incomparable strength. You are known everywhere as Anjani's son and the Son of the Wind. You are a mighty warrior, brave and possess a body as strong as a thunderbolt. You dispel evil and foolish thoughts, and you are the companion of the wise. Your complexion is golden, and you look beautiful in your fine attire. You wear brilliant ear-studs, and your hair is beautifully curly. In your hands rest a lightning bolt mace and a divine flag. A sacred thread made of Munja grass elegantly adorns your shoulder. You are an incarnation of Lord Shiva and the proud son of Kesari. Your radiant luster and immense glory are revered by the entire world. You are highly learned, virtuous, and exceptionally clever. You are always eager and ready to carry out the work of Lord Ram. You find supreme delight in listening to the stories and glories of Lord Ram. Lord Ram, Lakshman, and Mother Sita reside forever within your heart. You assumed a tiny form to appear before Sita in captivity. Then you took a terrifying, colossal form to burn down the city of Lanka. Assuming a gigantic, powerful form, you destroyed the demons. In this way, you successfully executed all of Lord Ram's missions. You brought the life-saving Sanjivani herb and revived Lord Lakshman. Overjoyed with gratitude, Lord Ram embraced you tightly to his chest. Lord Ram praised you immensely and held you in the highest regard. He said, "You are as dear to me as my own brother Bharat." "The thousand-headed cosmic serpent Sheshnag sings your glory," Saying this, the Lord of Lakshmi, Ram, pressed you to his chest again. Sanaka and the other celestial sages, Lord Brahma, the king of sages, Sage Narada, Goddess Saraswati, and the King of Serpents... ...Yama, Kubera, and the guardians of all ten directionsтАФ Even the greatest poets and scholars fail to fully describe your glory. You did a great favor for Sugriva by introducing him to Lord Ram, Which helped him regain his friendship, his honor, and his kingship. Vibhishana followed your strategic counsel and wisdom, And the whole world knows he became the King of Lanka because of it. The sun, which is millions of miles away from the earth, Was swallowed by you in your childhood, thinking it to be a sweet, ripe fruit. Carrying Lord Ram's royal ring safely in your mouth, You leaped across the vast oceanтАФit is no surprise for someone of your stature. All the difficult, impossible tasks in this entire world Become incredibly easy and smooth by your divine grace. You are the ultimate gatekeeper at the door of Lord RamтАЩs palace. No one can enter or gain his blessings without your explicit permission. Those who take refuge in you find all the happiness and comfort in the world. When you are the protector, there is absolutely nothing left to fear. Only you can control your own immense radiance and energy. The three worlds tremble when you give your powerful roar. Ghosts, evil spirits, and negative energies dare not approach When your powerful name, "Mahavir," is uttered or remembered. All diseases vanish and all chronic pains are completely eradicated By constantly and sincerely chanting the name of the brave Lord Hanuman. Hanuman delivers and frees people from all adversities and crises If they focus their mind, actions, and speech entirely upon him. Lord Ram is the supreme ascetic King who rules over everything, And you effortlessly managed, protected, and fulfilled all his tasks. Whoever approaches you with any desire, wish, or prayer Attains the limitless, undying fruits of life and fulfillment. Your glory spans across all the four cosmic ages, And your fame brilliantly illuminates the entire universe. You are the protector of saints, sages, and righteous people. You are the destroyer of demons and the deeply beloved devotee of Lord Ram. You can bestow the eight supernatural powers and the nine forms of wealth, A supreme boon granted to you by Mother Sita. You possess the ultimate nectar of complete devotion to Ram. May you eternally remain the humble and powerful servant of Lord Ram. By chanting your praises, a devotee successfully finds Lord Ram And is completely freed from the accumulated suffering of countless lifetimes. At the time of leaving the body, such a devotee goes to the divine abode of Lord Ram, And if reborn on earth, they are always born as a true devotee of the Divine. One need not even worship any other deity or power; Serving Hanuman alone grants all happiness, peace, and satisfaction. All afflictions cease and all pains are wiped away forever For those who remember the powerful, brave, and vigilant Hanuman. Hail, Hail, Hail to you, O Lord Hanuman! Please bestow your grace upon me like a divine, compassionate spiritual master. Whoever recites this prayer a hundred times with devotion Will be freed from all worldly bonds and experience great spiritual bliss. Whoever reads and practices this Hanuman Chalisa Will attain spiritual success and fulfillment, with Lord Shiva himself as the witness. Tulsidas is forever the humble servant of Lord Hari. O Lord, please make your permanent home within my heart. Closing Doha O Son of the Wind, destroyer of all difficulties, and the very embodiment of auspiciousnessтАФplease reside in my heart along with Lord Ram, Lakshman, and Mother Sita, O King of Gods.

Intention: Always start with a silent bow to Lord Ram and your spiritual teacher (Guru) before beginning the Chalisa, as Hanuman loves nothing more than devotion to Ram.
